The streets of Canning have long provided fertile ground for location scouts - over the years, many feature films and TV productions have been made here. This summer, the BBC made another trip to the area to shoot David Copperfield.

I'm proud that the area is appreciated by outsiders, but many locals are annoyed by the disruption filming causes (and standing in horse poo). Cars must be parked somewhere else, and people are sometimes denied access to their own homes. I shouldn't complain - the last series of Prime Suspect provided me with the cash for a new camera....
